The Missing Witches Prescriptions

Rx. We do everything we can, and in between we dance.

We're taking next week off.

This week was a cycle of rush and collapse, steps forward, steps back.

This week, in our coven, in the dark of the New Moon, we danced to draw down the power in our voices, to listen to our bodies, to know what's coming.

This week, in Romania, police detained the far-right presidential hopeful Georgescu and 20 of his allies who had manipulated an election with hundreds of paid Tik Tok accounts.

When detained, Georgescu and his supporters were found with a cache of assault rifles, grenade launchers, piles of cash and tickets to Moscow.

Georgescu is charged with "incitement to actions against the constitutional order," giving "false information, false statements" and for setting up an organisation with "fascist, racist or xenophobic characteristics" as well as forming an antisemitic organisation.

Arrest the criminals who violate the constitution.

It can be done.

Crafted for Courage

This week I wanted to feel better, to feel like myself, to have energy again after finishing chemo. I tried to run before I could walk, I often hit the wall. There's a portal right there, but I'm not through it yet.

What got me through is a weekly stitch and bitch group with my neighbours. We joined Crafted for Courage and learned how to crochet.

We thrifted bags of wool. We move through time gently, stitch by stitch, laughing. We lend our Granny Squares and our mounting energy to a collective act resisting violence. It's small. It helps.

In the words of one covenmate who works behind the scenes building climate resilience in coastal communities: We do everything we can, and in between, we dance.

We do everything we can, and in between:

We dance.

On the Missing Witches zine this week, Dr. Julia Skinner wrote about tending to a process of transformation with one daily act.

Imagine the world you want to build and tend to it with one act of care, one stir a day, one twist of the endless two-step, one stitch at a time.

Imagine what you want to transform and whisper to yourself: It can be done.

On the podcast this week

In the second half of our exciting conversation with the electric and wise Patty Krawec we talk about language, theoretical physics, pyro-epistemology, stones, stories and white supremacy.

This will be a monthly event on zoom, with no obligation to attend consistently. We will meet on the second Sunday of each month at 1pm ET (at least for now). I’ve scheduled the meetings to be 1 hour long, but we can take more time if needed." Hosted by Julie N.

I'll do a brief introduction to the topic, then we'll open the floor to questions and discussions!  My hope is that the Spell-crafting Fluent will share their knowledge, and the Spell Newbies will share their queries in a "There's No Such Thing As A Stupid Question" kind of environment.

What is a spell?  How do we do them?  Are there rules?  Can we invent them ourselves?  What are spells that have worked for you?  Let's get our hands dirty and do some f**king MAGIC!!" Hosted by Amy.
